Breathe Arts Health Research is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company providing the NHS with creative arts-based programmes based on scientific research.
Run by Breathe, when the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS staff choir ‘Breathe Harmony‘ first started, they knew singing would alleviate stress and forge strong community ties. No-one however anticipated how quickly the resilience of our NHS communities would be tested by the current COVID-19 crisis.
Collaborating with music PR agents Dynamic Agency, Jasmin helped promote the launch of the NHS Charity Single, Mariah Carey cover ‘Anytime You Need a Friend’. The single was launched to help raise funds for Breathe Health Arts Research, an independent CIC amongst those organisations hardest hit by Covid-19 and whose work directly supports NHS staff and patients.
At a time when we were all hungry for positive news, the NHS single entered the charts alongside releases by Dame Vera Lynn and Sir Michael Ball with Captain Tom Moore. It made it to #3 in the Amazon Music download chart and #8 on iTunes, with support from celebrity ambassadors including Imelda Staunton, Nadia Swahalia and Jim Carter. The queen herself, Mariah Carey even retweeted!
The single and spokespeople for Breathe Arts Health Research featured on prime time news, including Sky News, Channel 5 News, This Morning (Holly & Phil), BBC and ITV London, as well as coverage in The Telegraph, The Sun, The Metro, Talk Radio, Magic FM, Wave FM and more.
The official figures on funds raised through the single downloads will be released towards the end of 2020.
